Terms

Last updated October 8, 2026. Plain words on purpose. By using Tax Pit Stop you agree to these terms.

What Tax Pit Stop is

A tool that estimates how much of your gig income to set aside for taxes, and shows the math. It uses the IRS rules for the year and the numbers you enter or import.

Not tax, legal or financial advice

  • Every number is a planning estimate. It is not tax, legal or financial advice, and it is not a tax return.
  • We don't prepare or file returns, and using Tax Pit Stop doesn't make us your tax preparer or adviser.
  • You decide what to save and pay. For your tax return, use tax software or a tax professional.

Estimates can be wrong

  • An estimate is only as good as what goes in. Missing payouts, miles or other income change the answer.
  • We leave out some things on purpose, like tax credits, and we say so on the screen.
  • Tax rules change. We check the figures against IRS documents, but we can make mistakes.
  • We can't promise you won't owe more, get a refund, or avoid a penalty.

Who we are not

  • We aren't the IRS or any government agency, and we aren't connected to them.
  • We aren't connected to DoorDash, Uber, Instacart or any other gig app or mileage tracker. Their names belong to their owners and are used only to say what works with Tax Pit Stop.

Your account and your data

  • You must be 18 or older to use Tax Pit Stop.
  • One account per person. Keep your email safe: sign-in codes go there.
  • Your records are yours. You can download them or delete your account at any time in Settings.
  • How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

Using it fairly

Don't try to get into other people's accounts, overload the service, or copy it to resell.

Plans, free trial and cancelling

  • Tax Pit Stop is free during the beta. When paid plans start, the free calculator on our website stays free.
  • Pit Crew costs $40 a year or $5 a month, plus any sales tax. The price is shown before you pay.
  • Your first plan starts with a free trial of 7 days. You add a card at the start. Nothing is charged during the trial. When it ends, your card is charged unless you cancel before then. We email you 2 days before that first charge.
  • Plans renew by themselves at the end of each month or year, at the price you agreed to, until you cancel. Yearly plans get an email before they renew.
  • Cancel any time in one tap in Settings, under Your plan. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep what you paid for until the end of that month or year, and your records stay.
  • If we ever raise the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, so you can cancel first.
  • Refunds: if you're charged and didn't mean to be, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it.
  • If you pay through Apple's App Store, Apple handles the payment, the trial and refunds under its own rules, and you cancel in your iPhone's settings.

The phone app

  • The app shows the same Tax Pit Stop as the website, under these same terms.
  • If you got it from Apple's App Store or Google Play, their standard terms also apply. They aren't responsible for the app or for supporting it; we are.

Our responsibility

We provide Tax Pit Stop as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for taxes, penalties or interest you owe, or for choices made using our estimates, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change starts.
